Classroom News !
First, I want to thank you for your continued support at home as your little ones make adjustments to their new school environment.
We will continue to practice our classroom expectations, rules, safety rules and procedure for fire drills, etc..., as well as making good choices, being kind to friends and how to be an, "I Can Do Kid!"
I am very excited to say that we will also begin our first classroom study! This study will be about Clothing! Children have so many questions and are very curious about the clothes they wear, as well as what other people are wearing. Our classroom studies are student led, and can last any where from 4 to 6 weeks or longer, depending upon their interest and where their imaginations take us!
If you can donate some items to help in the enrichment our Clothing Study, it would be greatly appreciated. Please do not go out and purchase anything special. These are probably items you have t around the house and are willing to donate them.
Clothing Study Items Needed:
Caps, infant/baby clothing, infant and larger sized socks, mittens or gloves, clothespins, laundry baskets for sorting , old spools (wood various sizes) from thread, buttons - larger sizes. Please make sure these are items that you DO NOT need returned.
I will continue my formal and informal assessments of each student. Information regarding your child's developmental skills and scoring on these assessments will be available by the end of September. I will have a parent/teacher conference sign-up at Open-House. I would like to meet with each of you to go over how your child is doing in the classroom, assessment scores, as well as any questions or concerns that you may have.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email, call or send a note in your child's folder. Let's keep the lines of communication open between school and home.
